The road led directly through a large field of yellow flowers. But the woman knew better than to trust their unnerving beauty and tried to turn around. Unfortunately, right behind her the pompous storm was closing in - black clouds, lightning - the works! She had no choice but to get back to the flower road.
The early going was easy. Just chugging along, trying not to attract any attention. Then everything unraveled in a matter of minutes.
The first to appear was the giraffe. It was long and strong and stuck out its giant tongue to lick the flowers fifty at a time. It seemed almost as if the giraffe was loading up on pollen.
Then came the whale. It was wide and full of flesh and geysered out liters of water from its blowhole every time it plopped its body forward.
The woman barely got out of the way as the giraffe galloped across her path to meet the whale. As if to prepare - the whale stopped moving and opened its mouth. And then in the middle of the field of the most beautiful yellow flowers, the giraffe used its momentum to ram its tongue straight down the whale's throat. It was a kiss for the ages!
The woman stared unflinchingly but in honest discomfort as these two titanic animals threw caution to the wind and loved each other with the shattering passion only beasts with large body parts can achieve. They tangled and tussled and mixed all manner of fluids. And then it was over, they went back to their respective habitats spent and fulfilled.
And as the woman was again alone, catching her breath and preparing for the storm which she was now sure to not escape – the sun came back out! The storm was no longer necessary and the woman was free to flee. And as she ran through the yellow flowers, they swayed slightly, smug in their unnerving beauty…
